A Keurig coffee maker was also in the kitchen. ![]() There was a refrigerator/freezer and a microwave oven. The kitchen was well stocked - wine glasses, coffee mugs, dinner plates, cutlery. I found the dining table on the small side, but it was serviceable. There is a wood burning fireplace in the upstairs level too. A word of warning - if the temperature reaches the low 70's in the area, you will find the upstairs very stuffy and you will need to open the patio door to cool the place off. We were lucky that there was no fog that day. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or a cocktail. The ocean views are wonderful and the deck upstairs is a nice touch. We both are female travelers in our middle forties traveling with two retired parents. It is between 800-900 square feet with a queen sleeper sofa bed on the upper level and a king bed on the lower level. My sister booked the two level townhouse for the Sunday of the Martin Luther King weekend. There is so much to see in Monterey Bay.whatever we want, this area delights our senses with natural beauty, sunsets, seals, museums, wineries, and more. Hyatt Highlands Inn is only a 10-minute drive to Carmel where we walked through Art Galleries and shops. Nepenthe has one of the most amazing overlooks in the world along the Big Sur Coastline. I love looking through its unique collection of artful gifts from around the world and always find something unique to take home with us. After that, we stopped at our favorite shop, The Phoenix, next to Nepenthe Restaurant. We appreciate healthy and delicious baked goodies and tasted THE BEST SCONE EVER with a crispy outer crust and not too sweet. We felt like we were on the top of the world! Hyatt Highlands Inn is definitely the place to stay if you want first class service, quality lodging, full kitchen and huge jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub in the bedroom. We walked around and saw the most breathtaking view with cypress trees blowing in the wind and the ocean in the distance. One night we took a late stroll down the path under the trees and wandered into the Pacific's Edge Restaurant so the last of the staff was setting up for breakfast and welcomed us in. Mornings were spectacular as we looked out to Point Lobos State Park and the Pacific Ocean right from our patio. He did it so quickly without a grunt and even lit the fireplace for us!! Daily maid service was included in our 7-night stay so our 1-Bedroom was always clean with friendly maid service which included removing the ashes from the fireplace and preparing the wood for our next fire. As we pulled up, we were greeted by a young man who told us to leave everything in the car, while another said "follow me" taking us up the stairs to check-in, then took our keys and led us back to our car where he jumped into a golf cart, drove up the hillside to our room, opened the room, and began unpacking our entire car.
